St Philips gets its name from the school where the club first started in 1975. The club now has close links with Cambridge city council's "City Sports".
The founder and club coach is Hamid Sanami.
Hamid is known by everyone involved in Volleyball in and around Cambridge and has contributed significantly to the game in the local area

Hamid is excellent with newcomers to the club providing one-to-one coaching whenever possible. Even after 20 plus years Hamid is encouraging and dedicated to developing newcomers to the club.

As well as St Philips Volleyball club Hamid also runs a club dedicated to kids under 16 called "Smalltown Heros" which has enjoyed considerable success in recent years and consistently beats the men's first team.

Fortunately for some of us the kids don't stay young very long and I'm pleased to say that many of the original members are now away at University expanding their talents in other walks of life.
